PremiereProps.com: “This is the hero death dealer costume worn by Selene in the film “Underworld.” The black latex cat suit does not have a size indicated. It has a zip up front and buckles around the collar. The inside of the cat suit has been tagged “Kate” by the costume department. The black leather embroidered corset also has no size but can be adjusted by zipper. It features custom embroidery on it’s center front. The inside of the corset has been tagged “Kate” by the costume department. The black leather jacket has no size indicated. It does feature custom embroidery on the collar, cuffs, and back. Authenticity my a$$! Do this look like a “latex cat suit” to you? A latex cat suit with heel straps? It’s NOT latex!

I am quite sure that the outfit is one of the authentic outfits used in the movie - however I am not sure if it’s latex, PVC or some material mix. There is really no telling from the movie or the publicity shots. I would love to examine the outfit personally, but unfortunatelly it’s a little out of my price range.

The outfit seen in the movie is definetely latex. At one point Selene is kissed by a man in a small room and you see her upper body close up - no doubt!
I am sure the outfit is authentic - otherwise the company would get into leagal problems before you could say rub…!

It’s possible this was a costume used for far away shots or stunt work… Latex is expensive and fragile ya know, so a vinyl backup suit would make sense.
Looks like your typical 4-way stretch PVC to me. It’s obviously experienced quite a bit of delamination from the looks of things.
The costume is a mix of latex and lycra. It is less shiny and more flexible than pvc and latex alone. This costume is gorgeous, I just wish it was in my price range.
In the second movie, when she “undresses,” you can see seams under the corset. That means that it is not latex, at least not 100% latex. I have never seen latex with seams that are not glued. However, that does not mean that what the camara (we) see in not latex. That means that the actris missed about 95% of the joy of being in latex…!
Have look at:
http://www.premiereprops.com/underworld-evolution-selene-s-kate-beckinsale-movie-costumes.html
and click on the photo of the wardrobe dept. tag- states that it’s coated lycra (at least one of the costumes in Underworld Evolution was) it may have been a backup unit, and some latex ones were made as well.
She apparently kept 1 of the suits & that one was latex?
