The end of an erra? Ataraxia, the creator and webmaster of The International Association of Rubberists, has put the largest rubberist community up for sale. Ataraxia’s reasons is easy to relate too. He’s tired, just got a new job and spend more time with the familiy. Managing a website as huge as IAR is very time consuming and Ataraxia done a great job. He has a difference to many, many rubberists worldwide!
When asked about the future of the IAR, Ataraxia said:
“If you want the IAR to continue please help me find the “right person” to buy it and continue running it. I will not specify a sale price here but suffice it to say it will be in the “several thousand” US dollars range.”
“I plan to keep the IAR running until the end of 2005 to honor my obligation to those who have sponsoring banners or made donations for the 4th Quarter. My involvement will be substantially reduced during that time. I’m sorry, folks. It is time for me to move on…”
From reading his reasons, I can surely understand why it’s time to move on. Best of luck Ataraxia I only found this site this year and enjoyed it greatly. Hope someone buys it.
Atx is way too involved with his forum, and now he found out.
I was a member of IAR many years ago. Life then was different from the present. My X did not like my love of latex rubber the present is noncommital or indiffernent. I just want to think that I am not really odd because I love latex. I would like to correspond with someone but no telephone and at this time no visits, just talk. Have a nice day Joe
