Christina Aguilera will be showing off the video for her new single, ‘Not Myself Tonight’, on various websites around the world today. This would be the first single from her upcoming album, Bionic.
The video features Christina in latex (Atsuko Kudo, House of Harlot and TG Clothing), a Kendra Mac by Agent Provocateur and bondage gear, plus some men dancing in the rain. It’s not as shocking as it probably thinks it is.
Christina joins a long line of performers, models, celebrities and starlets, such as Lady Gaga, Kelly Brook, Rihanna, and many others before them, using latex as a tool to brand their product as something sexy, new and daring.
The media has been lightning fast to hail latex clothing, and especially Atsuko Kudo latex clothing, as the latest must have, for every celebrity with a little self-respect!
The whole fetish scene knew that Atsuko Kudo’s latex was special, right from the first time she appeared on London’s fetish scene back in the summer of 2001. The rest of the world and Christina Aguilera are just catching up now… 9 years later!

Alternative Fashion Week opened here at Spitalfields Traders Market in East London, UK in spectacular style with the latex extravaganza that is Lady Lucie’s circus-inspired collection. The ladies’ rubberwear stormed the catwalk in an array of vivid technicolour, from a scarlet and black toy soldier/ringmaster (as worn by October Noire, pictured right) to trapeze artist turquouise and pink high-waisted leggings, to the Vaudevillian-tinged frills and elegance of jet black and smoky brown latex-clad courtesans.
Explaining her theatrical inspiration for the costumes Lady Lucie told me: ”Before I started making latex clothing I made lycra dancewear and theatre costume, and basically I always wanted to run away with the circus. I suppose I have run away with the perv circus nowadays!”
In person Lady Lucie is formidable six-footer and she is a familiar presence at Torture Garden as both a clubbing regular and as an established designer. At TG Lucie’s enchanting fashion shows have captured the definitively feminine side of funky, showing off the vibrant and provocative fetish style that puts a groove in the step of her growing army of admirers. ”Scene-wise, I’m still loving the London fetish scene as much as I always have done, there seems to be a bit of a rejuvenation at the moment with new fetish-club goers, I’m thrilled to go out and see customers wearing my clothing, said Lucie. ”I find the London fetish scene inspirational too, with lots of creative people.”
In the current financial climate where incumbent Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s re-election pitch is to warn of ‘double-dip recession’ Lady Lucie’s particular brand of latex would have seemed a non-starter a year ago: ”I’m incredibly busy, which I never expected when I opened the webshop last October. I remember people telling me they thought it wasn’t a good move to do something so niche market in a recession, but it didn’t seem to affect things for me, although an equal amount of my customers are not UK-based, many of my customers are European, Canadian and Australian.”
And before you guys get despondent thinking the girls get all the best designers, Lady Lucie told me the good news that her menswear collection should be available within the next month.
Our thanks for the catwalk pictures provided by award-winning photographer Dafydd Owen and which feature Lady Lucie’s troupe of favourite latex models, including the vivacious October, the sultry Samantha Stone and the marvelous Mam’zelle Maz.
Latex fetish supermodel Susan Wayland has given her website a funky new makeover after three years with the previous design. Susan, who hails from Leipzig, Germany, and her web-designer and partner Norman Richter have made the changes to include new features and better interactivity for her fans and community.
Susanwayland.com includes a series of free HD video trailers of Susan – nicknamed ‘Sway’- in a variety of colours from rubber couture. Other freebies include ten free desktop wallpapers and a ever-growing collection of fan art. I particularly like the magazine covers page embedded like an iTunes carousel and a journal which has documented Sway’s public fetish life since 2003.
I asked Sway how long she has been into latex:
SW: For around 10 years. I couldn’t tell you an exact date, because as far I can remember, I have had a love for shiny materials. Back in my teenage years, I loved to wear PVC clothing and I didn’t know about latex at that time. When I met Norman Richter, we soon recognized how many things we had in common, and together we discovered latex. It wasn’t long before I was totally addicted to this beautiful material. Latex is so unique, it’s so soft and nestles my body so closely and perfectly, like no cloth could. Every touch feels much more intense when you wear it, and I feel incredibly sexy and feminine like in no other form of dress.
If you’d like to tell Sway what you think of the site refurbishment or ask about membership to access more than 6,600 photos and 363 minutes of films why not register for free on her forum and leave a question or comment?
